Hieronder wordt een lijst met veel voorkomende aandoeningen of situaties waarmee wij te maken krijgen behandeld.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Is jouw dier ziek of in nood? Bel je <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dierenambulance-amsterdam.nl\/dienstverlening\/dierenartsen\/\">dierenarts<\/a> en ons als je vervoer (en eerste hulp) nodig hebt. Het kan zijn dat we helemaal aan de andere kant van de stad zijn en dat eigen vervoer veel sneller is. Probeer in geval van nood altijd kalm te blijven en denk aan je eigen veiligheid. Een dier met pijn is onberekenbaar, en kan uitvallen. Ook naar de baas. Bel bij een heftige bloeding je dierenarts en ons voor eerste hulp en vervoer. Kijk naar de volgende tips om alvast het bloeden te stoppen. Onze centralisten kunnen je telefonisch begeleiden.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tourniquet: <br><\/strong><em>(alleen bij heftige bloedingen)<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leg bij een heftige bloeding aan de poot een 'tourniquet' aan met een reep stof of een veter, circa 5 cm b\u00f3ven de wond;<\/li>\n<li>Maak in de stof een knoop;<\/li>\n<li>Leg hierop een pen of een stevig stokje en knoop dit stevig vast;<\/li>\n<li>Draai de pen of het stokje rond tot de reep stof strak om de poot zit;<\/li>\n<li>Als je naar de dierenarts rijdt, knoop dan de strook op het stokje vast zodat deze niet los kan draaien;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Let op:<\/strong> draai elke 5 minuten de stof los om het bloed te laten stromen. Dit is heel belangrijk om geen weefsel te laten afsterven;<\/li>\n<li>Zodra je het tourniquet hebt aangelegd kan je een eventueel een drukverband op de verwonding aanleggen. De bacterie groeit met name in laag en stilstaand water met weinig tot geen zuurstof. Watervogels (en vissen) zijn erg gevoelig voor botulisme. De ziekte veroorzaakt verlamming, met alle gevolgen van dien. Het gif zorgt ervoor dat signalen van zenuwen niet of moeilijk overkomen op spieren. Hierdoor treedt een spierverlamming op. De vogel komt om door verdrinking in het water, waardoor weer watervervuiling ontstaat. Bij bepaalde ziektes kunnen ook fracturen ontstaan, zoals bij bottumoren of botontkalking.<\/p>\n<p>In geval van een gebroken poot: Het dier kan meestal niet meer op de poot staan en de poot heeft vaak een vreemde, onnatuurlijke stand of een abnormale beweeglijkheid.<\/p>\n<p>In geval van een gebroken kaak: een abnormale stand van de kaak, niet meer kunnen kauwen, slikken gaat moeizaam en de bek sluit vaak niet meer goed.<\/p>\n<p>Denk aan je eigen veiligheid. Jouw dier heeft immers pijn en zelfs het meest schattige huisdier kan hierdoor onbedoeld bijten. Zorg dat jouw dier zo snel mogelijk naar een dierenarts gaat. Forceer niets;<\/li>\n<li>Als de breuk open is (je ziet een wond boven de breuk, waarbij je niet altijd het bot hoeft te zien), dek de wond dan zachtjes af met steriel gaas of een schone doek. Voorkom dat het dier eraan gaat bijten of krabben;<\/li>\n<li>Schuif eventueel een opgerolde handdoek voorzichtig onder de poot. Bij een <span class=\"highlight\">maagtorsie<\/span> <\/span>draait de maag om zijn as. Hierdoor worden de ingang en de uitgang van de maag afgesloten (bij slokdarm en dikke darm). Ook de bloedvaten worden afgekneld. Daardoor worden de bloeddruk en de hartwerking verlaagd en krijgt het lichaam te weinig zuurstof. Doordat de maag afgesloten is, kunnen de gassen die door gisting ontstaan niet ontsnappen en wordt de maag steeds boller. Door die uitzetting kan het middenrif niet meer goed bewegen waardoor de ademhaling beperkt wordt. Hierdoor komt er nog minder zuurstof in de weefsels. De maagwand begint af te sterven, bacteri\u00ebn in de darmen gaan giftige stoffen afscheiden, de nieren en de lever worden aangetast en uiteindelijk overlijdt het dier. Wees voorzichtig met tillen. Oefen geen druk uit op de buik;<\/li>\n<li class=\"textLayer\">De hond mag bij vervoer staan, liggen of zitten; dwing het dier niet in een andere positie dan het zelf wil;<\/li>\n<li>Het ontwikkelen van een maagtorsie kan nooit helemaal worden voorkomen. De ziekte wordt overgedragen door o.a. direct contact, vlooien en muggen.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Binnen een paar dagen worden zwellingen zo ernstig dat ze blindheid kunnen veroorzaken. Het konijn kan uiteindelijk niet meer zien, horen en ruiken. Plaats er zo mogelijk een doos overheen. Bel ons en wij komen zo snel mogelijk het dier ophalen. Myx-konijnen brengen wij naar een dierenarts voor euthanasie. Een verstopte plasbuis komt vooral voor bij katers, omdat de plasbuis smaller is. Als een poes weinig of niet plast, kan dit bv. komen door een blaasontsteking of blaasstenen. Vaak hebben katers eerder een blaasontsteking gehad, of last van blaasgruis. Als de urinebuis met gruis verstopt zit, kan het dier zijn urine niet kwijt. De urine bevat gifstoffen die uit het lichaam verwijderd moeten worden. De bloeddruk in het lichaam daalt als gevolg van bijvoorbeeld bloedverlies, hartproblemen, vochtverlies bij brandwonden, braken, diarree, allergische reacties, elektrische schok of hersenletsel. <br>De bloedstroom wordt door stress, schrik, ongeluk, uit-\/inwendige bloedingen ernstig verstoord. Als de shock niet juist behandeld wordt, kan het dier overlijden.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Toediening van zuurstof kan levensreddend zijn en voorkomen dat ernstig zuurstoftekort leidt tot schade aan cellen en organen. Wij geven op de ambulance onderweg naar de dierenarts daarom altijd zuurstof.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bel sowieso je dierenarts.&nbsp;<br>Belangrijk is dat jij als baasje zo kalm mogelijk blijft. Let op je eigen veiligheid en stel het dier gerust.
